Queen of Heaven Watches Over Kevin
Comments (0) I learned of Kevin’s fight against his cancer from my son, Connor, who lived with Kevin in Sorin College at Notre Dame. Sorin literally sits in the shadow of the Golden Dome with Our Lady looking down on the young men who live there as they go about their lives. I prayed to Mary, mother to mother, to intercede for Kevin.
Kevin’s devotion to Our Lady was so apparent and I am certain that she was there to welcome him home when his time here was done. I visit the Grotto whenever I go to Notre Dame and I light a candle in memory of Kevin and his great faith.
A seat is reserved for Kevin in the chapel at Sorin and he will forever be a son of Notre Dame, Our Mother. It is a comfort to me to know that a great young man is watching over my son and all the Sorin men from his place in heaven, just like Our Lady watches over them from her place as Queen of Heaven.
