Teach Us Your Wisdom

By Friends of Kevin, July 26, 2009 6:25 pm

Tom and Ann,

We learned more about our faith and things that we never new as as Catholics, while visiting your website. Your posts about Kevin kept us updated, but your theological insights helped us be stronger. As Catholics we fall into a routine. We pray and we go to church. Kevin gave us a reason to pray.

Many don’t know why we need to pray or how to pray for an intention. What novena’s do we pray now? How many really understood the Chaplet of Mercy? For many of the children of the ‘60 -70’s, we are just now understanding. I learned more about my own faith and how to become one with God, through Kevin’s website. I miss the daily website check in and feel the loss of not only Kevin, but of the Healey message.

Please consider posting more often and teach us what is important and relative to our faith.

Thank you.

Theology in Real Life

By Friends of Kevin, July 16, 2009 2:40 pm

There is only so much that can be learned in the classroom.

The classroom is a place for going through the motions, and real life is where those motions turn into reality. We often forget theology in times of crisis, but what has happened here has well changed the course of each life Kevin touched. He altered the view of theology and life itself for so many people.

In his own, very public, suffering we saw a very human side of theology, one of pain, one of anguish. Jesus himself went through much pain on the cross for us and, as Kevin did, died in a way where he gave that suffering to help those whom he loved.

Kevin taught me more about morality than his father did so many years ago. He taught me faith better than the many teachers I have had because his always strong faith led me to a better life.

Kevin, you will not be forgotten and the path you have led me too makes me eternally grateful for your public trials.

God bless Healey family, your son is right up there with the Saints now.
